A Few Days “Off” in Pennsylvania

Hey folks! It’s been a long time since we last posted, so let me explain.

We arrived in Pennsylvania on the 20th, and basically hung out with our respective parents. Here, we’re roasting up some vegan hot dogs over my folks’ fire pit thing. It’s really the only way to do it.

The next day was the New Berlin Firemen’s Carnival. We have a penchant for small town parades and carnivals alike. It seemed like fate to have stumbled upon my hometown during such a time.

But the whole thing seemed more than a little off. Both of us noticed it, but we really can’t explain it. It seemed like most of the people there had aggressively given up on life. It was really sad and bummed both of us out.

The next day, however, we met up with a whole slew of amazing friends and took in Knoebles Grove – a free admission amusement park not too far away.

Both Smartz and I spent a lot of time there as kids, and the place is every bit as amazing as we remembered it.

On the 22nd, we got married! This blog features only our photos, so we obviously have none of the ceremony. We’ll direct you here for that. That night, we left our ancestral homes and drove for Gettysburg, where we watched the sunset from Little Round Top.

If you’d like to see more photos from these few days, head here.
